I love Pig Shots, and  I love Reuben Sandwiches.   So I asked myself, “What could be better than Reuben Pig Shots?”  “Not much!”, I answer.  Click on the photo to see how they’re made.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Thick sliced bacon

Polish kielbasa

Cream cheese

Russian Dressing

Swiss Cheese

Cut the bacon slices in half and slice the cheese and kielbasa.

Blend the cream cheese and Russian Dressing.

Wrap the kielbasa slices with the bacon to form a little ‘shot glass’.

Cut the Swiss Cheese into rounds about the size of the kielbasa slices.

Finally, drain the sauerkraut and you’re ready to assemble.

First add the sauerkraut.

Next, pipe in the cream cheese mixture.

Insert the Swiss Cheese.

Put them in a pan and shake on your favorite seasoning.  I like Tony C’s for a little extra kick.

Put the pan into the cooker at about 300 degrees for about 90 minutes, or until the bacon is the way you like it and the cheese is melted and browning nicely.

This is what they’ll look like when they’re done.  What they taste like is another, and another, and another…Enjoy!

Well I guess I know what I am making soon! These sound delicious!!!

  • David Somerville:

I am terrified to make these. Pretty sure I would eat the whole pan in one sitting.

  • Erik:

WOW! That is very creative. I hope to see more variations of pig shots in the future. These rival ABT’s for sure.

  • Mister Bob:

Pig Shots are kielbasa wrapped in bacon, filled with cream cheese and topped with brown sugar. Sometimes a little spice rub is sprinkled on top as well. They are really delicious too!

  • Mister Bob:

That was 4oz of cream cheese and 1/2 cup of 1000 Island blended with a hand mixer.

  • Nate:

These look amazing! For the cream cheese mixture, did you you just mix 4oz cream cheese and a cup of 1000 island? I will be putting these on the smoker this weekend…Thx!

  • Steve:

Never heard of pig shots. How are they normally made.
